Being the largest Open Source event in Portugal and also a world reference, the Open Source Lisbon 2018 took place on September 27th at ‘Cidade do Futebol’, with more than 400 participants and 450 live streaming views across the world.
According to Eduardo Taborda, Managing Director of Syone – “The result is extremely positive, we have achieved and surpassed all goals that we had set and I think that we were at the highest level of production and accomplishment of this event, which is already a brand per se.”
The event was marked by speakers’ attendance from around the world, with presentations and demos of national and international companies on Digital Transformation processes, through Open Source technologies, highlighting the imminence of this collaborative approach as the basis of a technological evolution.
In this event were presented innovative solutions and case-studies of companies in constant digital transformation through Open Source technologies, such as EDP Energy, Microsoft technology and Red Hat, the Pestana Hotel Group chain, and the French retail company La Redoute. There was also the possibility of attending a discussion panel on Digital Rights & Internet Security.
“I think we can mirror the Open Source culture and what it brings to the current business world, with innovative and disruptive ideas emerging every day and where everything happens with increasing dynamics and speed.” – Says Eduardo Taborda. He also added that “on the other hand, we have presented case studies nationally and internationally, confirming that Open Source solutions are in fact one of the fundamental pillars of the Digital revolution we live in.”
