Open Source Lisbon invites speakers from around the world

 

Recognized as the biggest Open Source event in Portugal, Open Source Lisbon 2018 will take place on September 27 at Cidade do Futebol and invites speakers from around the world to present the potential of Open Source technologies in the development and success of business strategies, and how this collaborative approach is at the start of technological evolution.

Under the theme ‘Open Source: driving Innovation’, the event is divided in 2 big moments: the presentations/demonstrations and the interaction zones.

• In the first moment, the event counts with the Main Conference Talks, presentations taking place in the big auditorium, and the Tech Sessions, parallel sessions, where speakers will demonstrate the most innovative Open Source solutions.

• As interaction zones, the event will have a Tech Speed Dating area, dedicated to IT experts and where participants can ask all kinds of questions related to the different technologies. The Exhibition Area, where the attendance can find the stands of different the Sponsors and know more about their innovative solutions. And the Lounge Area, sponsored by Sagres, where participants can relax and discover new networking opportunities.

As for the first confirmed speakers, the event counts with a presence of Giovanni Bajo, Developer Relations of Digitale Team, team dedicated to the digital transformation of the Italian Government, Adam Hyde, Co-Founder of The Collaborative Knowledge Fundation, Ben Van´t ende, Partner & Community Strategist of Age of Peers, and Deb Nicholson, Director of Community Operations in Software Freedom Conservancy, as the first confirmed speakers of this 16th Edition.

This event, organized by Syone and co-organized by Caixa Mágica, has the duration of one day and it’s divided in two main slots, the morning period dedicated to a more business and strategy-oriented vision, and the afternoon more focused on functional and technical aspects. The event is free of charge, but pre-enrolment is mandatory.
